Grandmothering

Nancy was the proud grandmother of Kip and Aaron Hathaway, now 19 and 17, respectively.

 When they were young, Grandma's house was a house filled with wonder... moving beds (an adjustable hospital bed),  television sets in so many rooms, Legos, Playmobil and puzzles in every closet.

Easter egg hunts were especially wondrous. You never knew when an egg would form in a garden gargoyle's mouth, or nest perfectly in the small of a fountain's scalloped edge.

As Kip and Aaron grew older, Grandma Nancy stayed connected with them through email, letters and a shared interest in family history. Her last note to them is at left. She had wallet-sized photos made of herself  with their other grandmother, Dorie Hathaway, in Easter 2013. She thought the incongruity of young men with a picture of "old babes"  in their wallets was a hoot.
